Set sail for success

Class of 2003

Class of 2003

Tamanna R. 2003

My best memory...

The best memories were with amazing teachers. Suzanne, Neil who was married to Sarah i think who was also a teacher. Basit who I still see time to time. Bella, Claire, Emma and even caretaker Carl. Along with many more. The TA’s who are still there now, Shipli, Salama, Margaret, Eileen one and two lol. Of course many more. They really made the whole experience fun. I used to be so excited to play marbles and hopscotch in the playground. Look at the crazy tarantulas Peter had. Learning how to use the computer. The books were a dream. The handeriting lessons and decorating our own covers and putting them in our trays. Going through to each class on my birthday with a friend sharing out chocolates while earing most of them. The ‘haunted’ toilets that I kept challenging myself to go into. The fun P.E sessions outdoors. The epping forest trips coming back covered in mud from head to toe. Beach trips each year where in one I almost drowned lol. Sitting on the benches in assembly feeling like royalty. Taking registers to the office was a tough responsibility haha.

The memory that sits the most with me is the singing sessions with John Meehan the head of school. Him and his guitar and the projector. Was a vibe. I have searched everywhere for him and Suzanne to thank them in the present for doing the best they can for us. I hope they are doing well!

I go to do some pick ups here and there now and wish I can have a tour of the inside as I know it’s changed so much. If any of the teachers end up reading this. Just know we appreciated you and know the struggles you must have faced to make the school perfect. I do wonder where the leavers of my year have gone and if they are doing well in life too.

And now...

Im 33 and work with kids too and now know how we must have tortured the teachers back then haba. Im also the regular pick up person for my three nieces and nephews who now attend and it’s nice for teachers to recognise us. Especially via my older sister who worked in the school earlier on. Waves of nostalgia each time.

My best memory...

I have a lot of memories and flash backs and little moment in seconds which I can recall, all are kept dearly in my heart and I will take with me to my grave. I've been blessed to have teachers such as Bella from nursery, I think I has Lisa or Linda in year 2. Amanda or Claire probably in year 3, Basit Sirajul Choudhury in year 4/5 and Peter in year 5/6. I remember Karl/Carl the caretaker used to be our dressed up santa during the Christmas period. We has John as our head teacher. At break time, we used to go to a hall down the corridor and pay for crisps or apple with our names taped on it. Lunch time we had a dinner lazy named Sue I believe, blessed to bump in to her few years back. Peter had a tarantula in a glass case in his classroom. We had a library with beanbags, 3 toilets facilities. Boys toilets in the centre of the corridor by the entrance of the school. And further down towards the end of the corridor boy and girls toilets seperate. We were told the girls toilet was haunted so all the kids would avoid going down there. Peter & Basit used to take us on trips to Epping Forest for the day, theatre just beside the School, School trips to the beach, Goresfield was another highlight. I truely believe those were the best years in my childhood, a jigsaw piece of my heart. I REALLY miss those years, the teachers, friends, staff, the School, the view of the building of the School itself.

I really wish and dream to be able to go back and revisit the School, classrooms, hoping to see a familiar favourite teacher still teaching there.

Should have a reunion of Class 1997/98 - 2003 includes the former pupils of those years, teachers, helpers, staffs. Would be great to catch up with everyone and relive our derest memories.

And now...

Im 31 years of age working full time, married, 2 children. Blessed.
