The local authority (LA) now deals with all statutory admissions from Reception to Year 6, including in-year or mid-term admission. So if you’d like your child to come to Mayflower, please contact Pupil Services at the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.

Nursery Admission

Children can be registered on our waiting list from two years of age.

To register you will need to complete an application form at the School Office.

Families will be notified if they have a place, by letter, the term before the child is due to start. No child may start nursery before their third birthday and it may be some time after this, depending on the length of the waiting list.

Once a nursery place has been offered you will need to provide a copy of the child’s birth certificate and proof of child’s address i.e. medical card.

The criteria for admission to nursery are;

  • Children who are or have been looked after by the local authority within one year prior to the admission date (children in public care).
  • Where there are exceptional social/educational/medical needs for the school applied to. You will be asked to provide a report from a professional to support the application e.g. from a doctor or social worker.
  • Children with brothers or sisters in the school at the time of admission.
  • Those living nearest the school.

Please note the length of time that a child’s name is on the waiting list does not give the child priority over other applicants.

Attendance at the nursery will not guarantee admission to the school
