Lower Key Stage 2 participated in an orienteering festival at Victoria Park on Wednesday 10th October 2012. Activities included map matching relay, cones map maths challenge and orienteering loop circuit. Children were given electronic USB keys which checked their journeys were correct and recorded their times.

The Mayflower teams did extremely well especially on the cone maths challenge which combined their map reading skills and their mental maths. On our way back we enjoyed lunch by the pagoda which was particularly interesting for Hokusai class as it linked to their new focus book ‘The smallest samurai’.
